Travel firms launching “economy tours” to attract more travelers
The airfare and service fee increases plus the economic difficulties, have both led to the sharp fall in the number of travelers. A lot of travel firms in HCM City have decided to design “economy tours” with low costs in order to retain clients.

Short distance tours will be less costly than long distance ones
Travel firms all have reported the sharp decrease in the numbers of travelers. Though there were still many travelers booking tours for the April 30 holiday, the number of travelers was still far below the expected level. Especially, many clients just called travel firms and asked about tour fees, while they did not book tours.
Travel agents protest Hanoi’s proposed cyclo ban
Many travel agents in Hanoi are voicing their opposition to a proposed citywide ban on the slow-moving pedicabs, known as cyclos. According to reports from VnExpress, the ban was discussed at a meeting last Thursday.
During the proceedings, police officials claimed that reckless cyclo drivers regularly move in packs of 40-50, creating dangerous and obstructive traffic conditions. They added that many pedicab operators do business illegally throughout the city.
Discover Xuan Thuy Ramsar
The park was declared Vietnam's first Ramsar site of Vietnam and Southeast Asia, and the world’s 50th in 1989. More than one quarter of the park's 12,000ha is covered with mangroves that support many aquatic species - including fish, crustaceans and mollusks. These species provide food and a livelihood for the poor, local people of the area.
Expats discover Ha Noi delights

HA NOI — Fun-loving and outgoing expatriates will gather today for a fun competition aimed to discover more of Ha Noi - their "home away from home".

Entitled Urban Discovery Ha Noi Bar Challenge 2011, the competition is for groups seeking a fun experience, whereby the idea is that teams of four compete to find hidden checkpoints, solve clues and engage in mental and physical challenges. For all of which, the only allowed methods of travel are foot or local public transportation.
Lake of tears soothes souls

You are so beautiful, Pleiku/Breaking my heart into pieces/I don't dare to see in your eyes/Pleiku's eyes like full Bien Hoà (Sea Lake)"

While drinking coffee in a small cafe in the beautiful Central Highlands city of Pleiku in Gia Lai Province on a foggy morning, I suddenly hear this passionate ballad by musician Nguyen Cuong. Immediately, it captured my soul and I thought of Sea Lake as a must-see destination for me.

A visit to Sea Lake and its surrounding mountains and pines is really an escape from the chaos of the city. Situated some 5km north of the centre of Pleiku city, Sea Lake is as immense as an ocean and a nice destination for people who love both mountains and the vastness of the open sea.
