Traditional musical instruments of Vietnam represent the amazing Vietnamese musical culture. The musical instruments of Vietnam are created in accordance to the environment as well as for the need of specific music. Traditional musical instruments of Vietnam are matters of great pride to the nation as they exist from the medieval days and have developed all the more in the recent years. Most of these musical instruments are locally created and have simultaneously diffused with various indigenous identities.
The traditional musical instruments of Vietnam consist of a wide range of wind, string and percussion instruments and they are categorized below: * Wind- Flutes, Horns, Oboes and Free reed mouth organs.
* String- Bowed, Plucked and Struck. * Percussions - Tuned Percussions, Untuned Percussions and Drums. The Vietnamese Institute for Musicology houses a showroom where hundreds of traditional musical instruments of Vietnam are displayed and they speak a lot about the vastness of the music of Vietnam. Musical concerts keep on happening throughout the country and Vietnam has produced phenomenal musicians and some of them are outstanding international performers as well. |
