Sofitel Metropole one of the coolest
Ha Noi-based Sofitel Metropole Hotel has made the Conde Nast Traveller Hot List 2010, the publication’s annual list of the "66 Coolest New Hotels in the World".
The 100-year-old hotel has received numerous other accolades in the past. It was chosen as one of the 500 best hotels in the world by readers of Travel & Leisure and Conde Nast Travel; selected as the best hotel in Ha Noi by Hong Kong’s Destin Asian, Asia Money magazine and Viet Nam’s VnEconomy.
It was also named 2007’s best hotel for businessmen in a capital city, by readers of the Business Traveller Asia Pacific.

Foreign visitors to Vietnam in August and September will have their visa fees waived as part of a national shopping promotion program.

Foreign arrivals to Vietnam reached 1.8 million in the first four months this year, up 35.7 percent from the same period last year, official figures show. The number of tourists rose 39.5 percent while arrivals for business purposes up 60.4 percent in the period, the Vietnam Economic Times reported, citing the General Statistics Office in Hanoi.
